Musician Nguyen Van Chung is the author of Series of Peace. As of the end of July, the song has reached 6 billion views on platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and short clips on Reel/Story.
Recently, the musician received a lot of attention in the clip appearing with Hoa Minzy. He shared with Lao Dong reporter a cooperation plan with the female singer.
- Can you reveal about this collaboration with Hoa Minzy?
- This is the first time Hoa Minzy and I have collaborated in music, and I am really happy about this opportunity. I always admire Hoa's passionate way of working. Each Hoa product is carefully invested in content, image, cost and always carries meaningful messages.
For me, this song has a special meaning, because the song belongs to the thematic category of songs about my homeland and country - a music genre that I always cherish. We plan to hold a press conference to release the MV on August 22.
I don't know if Hoa wants to reveal the content of the song or not, but I can confirm that this will be a work rich in emotions. Hoa also invested a lot of money in this MV, promising to bring the audience a meticulous and profound product.
- How do you feel about "sister" Hoa Minzy when the two recently had intimate clips and photos together?
- I am always humorous, like to joke, and so is Hoa, always cheerful and playful. The first time recording together, Hoa made me very impressed with her respect and professionalism. The singing was exactly as I expected, ready to challenge myself with difficult techniques, and always try my best. Hoa constantly listens to the music to remember the melody, the lyrics, to record the most accurately and emotionally.
There were a few moments while singing, Hoa was so moved that she cried. At that moment, the entire studio - including me, Hoa, Hoa's assistant and the project manager - were silent because of emotion.
- When working with Hoa Minzy, what do you think is the female singer's biggest advantage?
- Hoa's biggest advantage... is probably "having money" (laughs). Saying that is fun, but in fact I mean that the biggest advantage of artists is having the conditions to invest in their products.
In my career, I have worked with many artists. Some people find a song that is very good and very satisfying, but at that time, economic conditions do not allow them to invest heavily in product quality, image, MV or communication strategy. This sometimes leaves their own regrets.
In fact, they have still tried their best to their best, but if there are better conditions, the product will definitely be much more meticulous and complete.
We can look back at Hoa's previous products, such as "Bac Bling" or many other MVs, to clearly see the proper investment.
Currently, the audience has very high requirements for both audio and visual, especially image. The MV must be eye-catching, unique, even have a cinematic quality to be emotional enough and make viewers "etect" their eyes. However, not every artist has the conditions to do that.
For Hoa Minzy, the biggest advantage is the convergence of all factors: financial capacity, a professional and dedicated crew, and a large audience always ready to support.
When a product is released and strongly welcomed, artists will have a good "harvest" to continue to reinvest, creating better quality products in the next stage.
- He had the song "Continuing the story of peace" that created a strong effect on April 30. How do you plan to compose a new song following the emotional flow about the Fatherland on September 2?
- Last year, Continuing the Story of Peace brought me unexpected success. I feel very lucky, honored and happy with that result. However, I do not want to just follow that success but will continue to compose new songs about my hometown and country.
On the one hand, I want to add missing thematic and emotional areas to my music. On the other hand, I hope to be written with the feelings of a Vietnamese person living in an important moment, when the country is rising to enter a new era.
With the mindset of a young person, I will compose to express gratitude to the police force, the People's Army, and at the same time reflect the image of the country on the journey of development. In the near future, I will continue to search for many topics that moved me to put into music.
Speaking of the song collaborating with Hoa Minzy, it is truly a song released to celebrate the whole country's National Day on September 2. This is an emotional song. I look forward to the day Hoa performs that song, so that the work can be fully sent to the audience.
