Nguyen Van Chung is one of the prominent musicians in the Vietnamese music market with many hits associated with the 8x and 9x generations. The male musician also has a notable income from copyright. He was one of the highest distributors of music copyright in 2021.
Nguyen Van Chung has many hits such as "Vang Trang Nang", "Chiec khan gio am", "Nhat ky cua me", "Voi trong thien ha", "Con cong mua", "Ngo minh hoa hoa hoa", "Mua dong dong no luoc"... Most recently, he became famous for the song "Tiep lai thuong hoa". According to the musician, this song has reached 5 billion views on platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram...
Having many hit songs, Nguyen Van Chung once sold the song exclusively to the singer.

Talking to Lao Dong reporter, the male musician revealed: "If we sell the exclusive performance of 1 song to a singer for 2 - 3 years, the musician will not be entitled to royalties when the singer sings in different programs within the agreed time limit.
This is exactly selling "performance rights" or selling "performance rights", meaning that for a period of time, only one singer sang that song and had the entire right to perform that song, without having to pay any other fees. If the program's organizers invite this singer, the musician will not receive the copyright.
The musician also added that there are exceptions, the author still receives copyright because it depends on the agreement between the two parties.
In particular, Nguyen Van Chung revealed: "According to the price framework, the Vietnam Music Authorities' Protection Center (VCPMC) is collecting for 1 program that does not sell tickets, the performance rights fee is only 400,000 VND".
Regarding the agreement in the contract for selling "exemplary performance" songs, the musician said: "It is personal property, so there is no regulation by any organization, it is just an agreement between the two parties, usually between the musician and the singer. Usually, both sides should be as clear as possible from the start.
Usually, the exclusive duration is 2 - 3 years, the singer is given exclusive and full performance rights, other singers are not allowed to sing that song without permission.
Only singers who buy copyrights are allowed to sell and exploit songs on digital music platforms such as chamber music, waiting music or YouTube revenue.
However, due to the agreement between the two sides, they can both make a profit if the musician also has his own YouTube channel. Therefore, it depends on the amount of money sold for exclusive performance rights. With a high amount of money, song buyers will make a lot of profit. If the amount is lower, the benefits will be divided equally between the two".
Regarding the issue of song copyright in the digital music era today compared to before, the author of S remaining a story of peace said that each person has a different way of doing music business: Someone gives full authority to VCPMC to collect and negotiate royalties on digital music platforms. I myself, in addition to authorizing the creation of my own YouTube channel to produce my own recordings, proactively create my own account on digital music platforms to collect money from the recordings I have produced.
The musician emphasized that now with the development of music platforms, artists can earn more income from many channels on social networks.
