Accordingly, the digital age with the rapid and strong development of science and technology, along with the explosion of platforms and social networks, and the boom of many different media methods, has strongly impacted the lives of theater industries.
People's Artist Thuy Mui affirmed that stage artists are facing challenges that need to innovate, improve creative thinking, improve the quality of works, apply science and technology, and digital transformation into staging to keep up with the times, keep up with the audience's needs for enjoyment, tastes, and aesthetics.
People's Artist Trinh Kim Chi - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Artists Association said that the theater is very lacking in good scripts, difficult to attract young audiences, and revenue is increasingly facing difficulties.
In recent years, many theater industries such as Cheo, Tuong, spoken drama, opera... have often faced a "sold-out" situation, making it difficult to sell tickets. As more and more entertainment facilities develop, it is increasingly difficult to attract audiences to theaters to buy tickets to watch theaters. Changes in the way of staging, building scripts, promoting plays, approaching audiences on digital platforms... are becoming urgent for the theater sector.

People's Artist Kim Chi proposed, hoping that the theater will be supported more in terms of mechanisms, with more businesses accompanying it so that the theater can light up regularly as it once did in its glorious period.
Faced with the task and mission in the new era, when the cultural industry is on a growth trajectory, artists in the fields of theater see their responsibilities more clearly, needing to create a turning point of innovation for the theater - when the performing arts industry is expected.
In the period 2021-2026, the Vietnam Theater Artists Association has organized many activities, many theater festivals, seminars, professional development workshops, sending artists to countries to learn, bringing international experts to Vietnam to exchange and share professional skills... These activities are set with greater responsibility and more effectiveness in the period 2026-2031.
The Vietnam Stage Artists Association was established in 1957 and has gone through a long journey of nearly 70 years, having gone through many ups and downs and changes.
Standing before the new era, the role of the Association's leaders as well as today's generation of stage artists needs to further promote their mission of spreading and preserving the cultural beauty imbued with national identity.
With the theme "Solidarity - Innovation - Creativity - Contribution", the Xth Congress of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association shows the determination of artists to bring the stage back to its true position in the flow of the cultural industry.
