On December 30, the conference to hand over the responsibilities and tasks of the Director of the Army Cheo Theater was chaired by Major General Tran Ngoc Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Military Commission and Director of the Political Department.
Accordingly, pursuant to Decision No. 133/QDX-BQP dated December 10, 2024 of the Minister of National Defense on the retirement of Colonel, People's Artist Nguyen Quoc Truong, Director of the Army Cheo Theater according to the regime; pursuant to Decision No. 86/QDD-TCCT dated December 12, 2024 of the Director of TCCT, Colonel, People's Artist Vu Tu Long, Deputy Director was appointed to the position of Director of the Army Cheo Theater.
Speaking at the conference, People's Artist Tu Long said he will work closely with the Army Cheo Theater to promote its 70-year tradition, preserve cultural values, and innovate to develop the theater industry.
People's Artist Tu Long has been attached to the Cheo stage throughout his artistic career.
In 1999, Tu Long joined the General Logistics Department's Cheo Troupe, starting with small roles. Inheriting the artistic genes from his family, Tu Long gradually became a talented Cheo artist, winning many gold and silver medals at professional stage performances.
Since 2000, he has appeared in the program "Weekend Meeting" on VTV3 and quickly became a famous pair with People's Artist Xuan Bac, loved by the audience.
Since then, Tu Long began to work in parallel between the comedy stage and the cheo stage. He became one of the most popular artists in the Northern comedy scene, his name associated with special programs such as "Gap nhau cuoi tuan", "Tao quan", "Oh my god, you're here"...
The male artist was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in 2012. In September 2014, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Army Cheo Theater.
In 2015, Tu Long was honored to be awarded the title of People's Artist. Five years later, he was promoted to the rank of Colonel.
Most recently, Tu Long appeared in "Call Me by Fire" as a participating artist. Here, People's Artist Tu Long once again revealed his singing talent and stage presence, which was loved by a large audience.
