According to Nielsen Korea, SBS's new drama "Buried Hearts" aired its first episode on the evening of February 21 and recorded an average nationwide rating of 6.1%, ranking first among short-running Korean dramas aired at the same time on Friday. The highest rating in episode 1 was 8.2%.
The rating of 6.1% is an extremely positive number, beating the rating of episode 1 of the previous drama - Love Scout (played by Lee Joon Hyuk, Han Ji Min) - to a rating of 5.2% in the first episode.
Buried Hearts tells the story of a man who hacked a 2,000 billion won political black fund account and was killed by a mysterious force. The story is more complicated as he still survives but loses his memory, while the mysterious force who did not know that 2,000 billion won had been stolen.
The central character of the film is Seo Dong Joo (Park Hyung Sik), the head of the Public Relations team of the chairman of Daesan Group.
On the surface, he appears to be a loyal "Daesan man", but in fact Dong Joo is very ambitious, ready to seize the opportunity to swallow up Daesan Group.
His seemingly perfect life and career ambitions were ruined under the hands of a powerful character - Yeom Jang Seon (Heo Jun Ho).

In episode 1, it seemed like everything was going perfectly for Seo Dong Joo at first. He is confident that he is doing well in both his career and his love life. After choosing his girlfriend Yeo Eun Nam (Hong Hwa Yeon) instead of the easy path to success in work, Dong Joo dreams of a happy future for her.
But at the end of the episode, Dong Joo was shocked to see Eun Nam married to another man. He knelt down, hopelessly screaming because he was betrayed.
With thrilling plot and "twin twist" right from the first episode, the rating of 6.1% shows that the audience reacted quite positively and expected the film.
However, in addition, some viewers argue about the intimate scenes of Park Hyung Sik and Hong Hwa Yeon.
They thought that the two actors had too many repeated kissing scenes. In particular, the unsafe scene of sexual intercourse (not using condoms) made some viewers angry and condemned the film.
However, the majority of the audience is still looking forward to the next developments of Buried Hearts, because episode 1 is just an introduction to the story.
