In the latest episode of MBC's The Manager, girl group leader Soyeon of girl group i-dle (formerly (G)I-DLE) frankly responded to speculation surrounding her salary as a musician.
To date, Soyeon has 88 songs registered in her name at the Korea Music copyright Association. This has led to speculation that the royalties Soyeon received may be enough to buy some luxury cars.
In addition, there is also an analysis that Soyeon is the member who earns the most money in the i-dle group, because she is not only an idol singer, but also acts as the main producer for her group.
However, Soyeon denied the information. She said that the music copyright fee was not actually as high as people imagined.
The leader of the i-dle group revealed that there was a member of the group who earned more money than her, that was Yuqi (Tong Vu Ky).
The only female Chinese idol of the i-dle group has earned a good income from promotional activities in her home country.
In China, Yuqi not only works as a singer, but also participates in variety shows and has many promotional activities.
Yuqi once appeared on the famous reality TV show Keep Running. She is currently the ambassador of the luxury brand Fendi.
Soyeon shared: To be honest, the copyright fee is not that high. No matter how many songs I write, Yuqi still earns more through her income in China.
Soyeon previously shared on an online entertainment program that her income from music activities changes a lot depending on each stage.
There were times when she only earned 100,000 won/month, but there were also times when the female singer and songwriter received 1 billion won (about more than 18 billion VND), if her job was smooth.
Meanwhile, Yuqi revealed that she had just bought a car for her parents, after the group renewed their contract with Cube Entertainment.
Before renewing the contract, all income of i-dle members, including each person's solo activities, had to be divided equally among all members of the group. Now, each member can own everything they earn.

Kpop girl group i-dle debuted in 2018 under the name (G)I-DLE. Initially the group had 6 members, but in 2021, Soojin left the group due to a school bullying scandal.
(G)I-DLE continues to perform with 5 members Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua. The group has gradually built a position, especially in Korea, with many hit songs such as " Latata", "Tomboy", "Nxde", "Queencard".
In early May this year, Cube announced that (G)I-DLE changed its name to i-dle.
The company explained: The letter G was removed from the groups name to restore the groups identity in a way that could not be determined by any gender.
Removing the moniker in the name also means that future music and style releases will be limitless.
After renewing their contracts with Cube, the i-dle members have enjoyed more benefits than before. A recent behind-the-scenes video revealed that each member of the group currently has a dedicated manager and is supported with their own means of transportation.
On May 19, i-dle will return with the mini album "We Are".
