On January 6, the 2025 Golden Globe Awards ceremony took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Los Angeles (USA). The event brought together many famous stars and actors, directors, screenwriters, and film crews from all over the world.
In this year's season, to increase diversity and fairness in the award process, the organizing committee has made an important change by increasing the number of nominations in each category to 6, instead of 5 as before.
In the TV series category, "Squid Game 2" was given special treatment because it was nominated even before it aired. However, the work could not win the Best Drama Series award, losing to "Shogun".
The TV series category also recorded the superiority of "Shogun" with 4 awards for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series, Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
Actor Colin Farrell was named as the Best TV Actor, while the Best TV Actress award went to veteran star Jodie Foster.
In the film category, the leading film nomination at the 2025 Golden Globes - "Emilia Perez" - won big with 4 awards, including important awards such as Best Motion Picture - Musical/Comedy and Best International Film.
With its resounding victory, "Emilia Perez" became the film with the most wins at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards.
The musical/comedy categories honor Sebastian Stan's performance in "A Different Man" and Demi Moore's performance in "The Substance." They were named Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively.
In the comedy/musical category, "Hacks" won Best Comedy/Musical Television Series.
This year, the film "Emilia Perez" starring Selena Gomez leads the nomination list with 10 nominations. The film is present in most important categories such as: Outstanding Film in the Comedy/Musical category and Outstanding Director.
The films "The Brutalist" received 7 nominations, "Conclave" received 6 nominations. "Wicked" received 4 nominations, which are notable works in the comedy/musical category.
In the television category, "Squid Game" unexpectedly received a nomination for Outstanding Television Series before it even aired.
"The Bear" is the TV series with the most nominations with five categories, followed by "Shogun" and "Only Murders in the Building" with four nominations.
