On the evening of August 13, Yonhap News TV released new CCTV footage of the case of male Kpop idol Suga (BTS) driving drunk.
In CCTV footage, Suga was driving an electric vehicle on the sidewalk of a street in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul at around 11:10 p.m. on August 6. Right after that, Suga ran into the sidewalk and fell down.
He was discovered by members of the riot police team who were on patrol at the time. When conducting a breath alcohol test at the scene, Suga's blood alcohol concentration was 0.227%.
This number far exceeds the 0.08% standard for driver's license cancellation regulations and Suga is the Kpop idol with the highest alcohol violation ever.
Previously, on August 7, in his apology post, Suga said: "After dinner and drinking, I returned home by electric kickboard (electric scooter).
I simply thought that it was a short distance and I was violating road traffic laws without realizing that I could not use an electric scooter while drunk.
In the process of stopping and parking at the main gate in front of the house, I fell."
However, this statement by Suga contradicts what CCTV shows. He did not fall while parking in front of his house, but fell because he ran into the curb while walking on the sidewalk.
Once again Suga's lies were exposed.
Previously, Suga said that he used an "electric kickboard" (electric scooter without saddle). But the police countered that Suga's car is an "electric scooter with a seat", which is similar to an electric scooter.
Big Hit's statement read: "After traveling about 500m, Suga fell while parking his car." However, in reality, the distance Suga traveled could be up to nearly 3km.
The male idol claimed that he "only drank one beer", but the 0.227% alcohol content proved that he drank more than that.
According to current law in Korea, if caught driving an electric motorbike while drunk and with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.2% or more, you will be sentenced to 2-5 years in prison or a fine of 10% or more. -20 million won.
