On his personal page, People's Artist Tu Long posted a photo with Duc Phuc and a group of comedians of the same generation including Thu Huong, Minh Hang, Xuan Bac and Cong Ly.
The artists wore school uniforms, took a photo in the school yard and put their arms around each other happily. It is known that this photo was taken behind the scenes of Duc Phuc's MV "Nguoi oi nguoi o dung ve".
On the occasion of the opening day of September 5, this cheerful and energetic MV was sought out by the audience again.
When inviting veteran artists to act in the MV, Duc Phuc once shared: "I dreamed of acting in the MV with my childhood idols and luckily they agreed. At first, I thought they were serious and difficult. However, they stirred up the studio, laughed continuously and brought a positive, happy atmosphere."
Currently, Duc Phuc is participating in "Anh trai say hi", and People's Artist Tu Long is participating in "Anh trai vu ngan cong gai".
However, the two shows were pushed into a tense confrontation due to excessive criticism and debate from fans of both sides.
From comparison and argument, a part of the audience attacked and criticized the artists participating in these two programs. The debate tended to be negative and demeaning.
Even veteran faces like People's Artist Tu Long, singer Bang Kieu, and singer Tuan Hung are not out of this "storm".
People's Artist Tu Long himself had to speak up: "If just because of your idol, you forget good values, sometimes even ignore moral standards, is it worth it?"
Participating in a program with an open spirit and self-renewal, People's Artist Tu Long faced comments calling him an "old man", saying the show was boring to watch, and inferior to the Gen Z singers of "Anh trai say hi".
The debates are getting more and more intense, even though in reality, the artists of the two shows are close, sometimes the artists of one show are close colleagues with the artists competing in the other show.
People's Artist Tu Long himself once collaborated with Duc Phuc, or Isaac - Jun Pham - ST used to be in the same music group, or MC Tran Thanh is close with a whole group of "talents" such as Truong The Vinh, Lien Binh Phat, Duy Khanh...
"Brother Overcoming Thousands of Challenges" with names familiar to Vietnamese audiences, brings about transformations when the "talented" cast has to practice dancing and performing in groups like Kpop idols. Their enthusiasm and inspiration are undeniable.
The young singers of "Anh trai say hi" have made great strides. Some names suddenly became famous and with the advantage of age and fandom culture, they covered digital platforms, YouTube views like a race.
If comparing the two shows, the artists only "intersect" at the single point of contact, which is their passion for music, the rest are different in terms of starting point and career orientation.
Therefore, comparing artists of different generations, styles, and strengths is lame.
Amidst the endless controversies and comparisons of achievements, people rarely mention the artists' efforts and the values behind the elaborate stage.
Many artists have said that art and music are a forest of hundreds of flowers in bloom. Artist Tu Long believes that "art is to beautify life, artists are just the ones who do it."
