On the evening of September 11, at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the 2nd Thang Long - Hanoi Festival officially opened with the theme "Heritage Flow". The program is directed by the Hanoi City People's Committee, organized by the Hanoi City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with the coordination of departments, branches and some units.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha emphasized that, with a thousand-year tradition of civilization, Hanoi is a place to crystallize and shine Vietnamese intelligence, with a rich history and cultural heritage foundation, with the integration of Thang Long culture with the cultural regions of Xu Doai, Xu Dong, Kinh Bac, Son Nam Thuong.The integration of unique cultural heritages has connected and nurtured a Hanoi rich in identity, creating a foundation for the Capital's culture to develop in the direction of "Culture - Identity - Creativity - Integration - Connection".
According to the Vice Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee, the preservation and promotion of the value of a thousand-year civilization needs to be harmoniously combined between tradition and modernity, humanity and rich memories; thereby transforming heritage into living assets, creating motivation for the development of cultural industries, making Hanoi a cultural industrial center imbued with identity, dynamism and creativity.
The program gathers a cast of artists: People's Artist Thanh Hoai, Meritorious Artist Van Ty, Meritorious Artist Van Khue, Tung Duong, Ca nuong Kieu Anh, Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Ngo Lan Huong, Oplus group, Quach Mai Thy, Yen Thy, Phung Thanh Huyen, Ram C and many domestic and international artists and actors divided into 3 separate chapters.

Chapter I - Awakening heritage - Lighting the fire of heritage: opening with AR technology recreating the Doan Mon - Thang Long Imperial Citadel space.
Chapter II - Heritage Intersection: depicting Thang Long - Hanoi through images of craft villages, craft streets, Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, the charm of Hanoi and folk tunes of the Northern Delta.
Chapter III - Multicolor Intersection: introducing art troupes from Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Dien Bien, Dak Lak and international art troupes from Korea, Japan, India, closing with the chorus performance "Hanoi welcomes the world".




Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2026 covers 6 symbolic cultural spaces of the Capital, from historical sediments of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Hanoi Museum, to community spaces such as Bat Trang commune, Ba Kieu Temple Flower Garden and Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square.
The event takes place from September 11th to September 20th, 2026.
