On August 27, Hanoi Medical University held the 2026 Doctor Graduation Ceremony, awarding degrees to students who completed the doctor training program for the 2020–2026 course.
Nearly 700 new doctors have stepped through the door of Hanoi Medical University to start a new journey. Each person will have a different choice, a different major, a different workplace, but all carry the imprint of six years of studying and growing up under the roof of a school with a long-standing tradition of medical training.
According to the training report, 303 students from traditional medicine, preventive medicine, dentistry and medicine majors all qualified to take the exam and passed the graduation exam. For the Medical Doctor major in Hanoi, 391/391 students eligible to take the exam also completed the graduation exam, reaching a rate of 100%.
The graduation ceremony is also a special moment when new doctors jointly swear the Oath of Career - a commitment to the responsibility of doctors to patients, the community and society.
Because from today, they not only carry the pride of someone who has completed their university program, but also carry a sacred title: Doctors.
The 2020–2026 course is a special generation of Hanoi Medical University. Six years ago, the students entered the school right at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first enrollment procedures were carried out online; the first class activities took place in special conditions; the first school year had almost no direct meetings between teachers and students like previous generations.
But that very situation has become an inseparable part of the journey of maturity of this generation of doctors.
The school has proactively adapted to maintain training activities: flexibly converting theoretical teaching to online teaching during intervals; organizing clinical practice in small groups; building online learning materials, clinical skills videos; and at the same time implementing measures to ensure safety for students when studying at the hospital.
In a period when the medical industry faced unprecedented challenges, students also witnessed more clearly the value of the profession they chose – the sacrifice, responsibility and bravery of medical staff in the fight against the pandemic.
As Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Tu - the school principal shared at the graduation ceremony, this is a disadvantage for them but also a year of training and special challenges. These experiences help them understand more early about the responsibility of the medical industry and the value of medical staff in emergency situations.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Tu also advised the new doctors that no matter where they go or what they do, they are still members of the Hanoi Medical University community. The school's reputation is not only built from a history of more than a century or from previous generations, but also continued through the way each learner works and behaves every day.
