This year, Vietnam has 9 ranked schools, an increase of 3 representatives compared to last year.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics is a new representative of Vietnam in this ranking but is leading with the 136th position. Following that are Ton Duc Thang University (group 201 - 250) and Duy Tan University (group 251 - 300).
Hanoi Medical University and Ho Chi Minh City Open University are also new representatives in the group of 401-500, 501-600, respectively.
The remaining representatives are similar last year, including Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University and Hue University with almost unchanged rankings, in the 501-600 and 601+ groups.

In Asia, Tsinghua University and Beijing University (China) still hold the first and second positions, and are also the only country with 7 universities in the top 10.
Some other representatives in this group come from Singapore and Japan such as the National University of Singapore (3rd), Nanyang University of Technology (4th), Tokyo University (5th).
In 2025, THE ranked 853 universities from over 30 countries and territories. The four countries with universities ranked for the first time are Uzbekistan, Bahrian, Mongolia and Syria.
Universities are evaluated based on 18 criteria, divided into 5 areas including: Research quality (30%), research environment (28%), teaching (24.5%), income from knowledge transfer (10%), international prospects (7.5%).
