In his opening speech, Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, said: Culture is the spiritual foundation of society, an important endogenous driving force to promote the sustainable development of the country. Former General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed that Today, culture is also considered a factor that plays a decisive role in the strength and position of each country and nation.

In order to inherit the spirit of the Vietnamese culture in 1943, along with the documents of the Party, the Government and the current legal provisions, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has built a "Strategy for developing Vietnamese cultural industries to 2030, with a vision to 2045", which affirms "the development of Vietnamese cultural industries is the duty of the entire political system, levels of society and sectors".

Cultural industries are identified as one of the important growth drivers, contributing greatly to the country's socio-economic development, preserving and spreading the unique cultural values of the Vietnamese people.

To develop cultural industries, it is necessary to have the cooperation, consensus and promotion of the whole society, in which the press plays a particularly important role. Journalism is a bridge to inspire and promote cultural values; a pioneer in spreading new initiatives and values while condemning the negative side, protecting identity; a forum for criticism, policy comments, and promoting innovation.

From the successes promoted by the press, it can be seen: "Culture is the foundation - Journalism leads knowledge, creates trust for society". The connection between the cultural industry and journalism is the key to promoting creativity and promoting Vietnamese cultural values to the world.

Today's forum is a key activity in the series of events celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, an opportunity for us to meet, share, listen and discuss opportunities and challenges for journalism in promoting the development of cultural industries; Practical experience from press agencies, businesses, and creators in promoting current cultural industries; Proposing solutions and policies to improve the effectiveness of coordination between journalism, media and cultural industries in the new period said Mr. Le Quoc Minh.
