On November 4, the State Council of Professors announced the list of qualified candidates for the titles of professor and associate professor in 2024.
This is the result of the second meeting of the State Council of Professors for the 2024-2029 term, taking place over 2 days from November 2 and 3.
According to this list, a total of 615 candidates were recognized as meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2024 (including candidates from the council of professors of security science and the council of professors of military science). Of these, there are 45 professor candidates and 570 associate professor candidates.
Previously, the State Council of Professors announced a list of 582 candidates recommended by 25 industry and interdisciplinary professor councils for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2024.
In addition, there are 48 candidates from the council of professors of security science (17 candidates) and the council of professors of military science (31 candidates).
The total number of candidates for professor and associate professor in 2024 belonging to 27 professional/interdisciplinary professor councils is 630 (this year, the literature professor council has no registered candidates).
Thus, 15 more candidates were eliminated in the state-level council round.
The economics professorial council has 100 candidates meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2024 (previously 104 candidates). The medicine professorial council has 71 candidates meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor (previously 72 candidates). These are the two majors with the highest number of candidates meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor this year.
Meanwhile, the interdisciplinary professor council of philosophy - political science - sociology has the fewest candidates for the title of professor and associate professor this year with 2 professors and 2 associate professors.
The Office of the State Council of Professors said that the publication of information on qualified candidates on the websites of higher education institutions and the website of the State Council of Professors reflects the openness and transparency of the process of considering and recognizing qualified candidates for the titles of professor and associate professor.
Within 15 days, if there is no petition or feedback, the Chairman of the State Council of Professors will sign a decision to recognize the qualifications for the title of professor and associate professor in 2024.
