For improper behavior, teachers and nannies in Ho Chi Minh City suspended

Ho Chi Minh City - Teachers and nannies of Hoa Lu Kindergarten (Saigon ward) have been disciplined for improper behavior.

On April 3, in an exchange with Lao Dong reporters, the leader of the Preschool Education Department, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that Hoa Lu Kindergarten has issued a disciplinary decision against related individuals after parents' reflections.

Previously, the parent of a 4-year-old child of Choi 2 class at Hoa Lu Kindergarten reflected that the child had a red bruise on his right cheek after returning home from school. Working with the school, the teacher admitted to beating the child during class, while the nursing staff (nannies) also admitted to having similar behavior at other times.

Immediately after receiving the information, the school requested individuals to report, organize a council meeting and propose a form of handling.

Accordingly, from March 23 to May 31, 2026, the Choi 2 class teacher in the incident was suspended from directly caring for and educating children and transferred to performing indirect tasks such as making supplies, toys, and school supplies for students at the school. The nursing staff was also suspended from direct work and transferred to serving at the school.

The school also notified all officials, teachers, and staff of the violation, determining that the actions of the two individuals violated the code of conduct and affected the unit's reputation.

In addition, related individuals are not considered for emulation titles in the first quarters of 2026. The school is continuing the disciplinary process according to regulations.

According to the leader of the Preschool Education Department, the consistent viewpoint is not to cover up violations related to child abuse. Management work at preschool facilities, especially independent and non-public childcare groups, will continue to be strengthened with inspection and supervision.
