Ho Chi Minh City - In 2026, Ho Chi Minh City will deploy and complete 24 flood control projects, with a total capital of nearly 38,000 billion VND, handling 29/159 flooding points.

According to the plan submitted by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, in 2026, the city will deploy and complete a total of 24 flood control projects, with a total investment of nearly 38,000 billion VND.

These projects are expected to help handle 29 out of a total of 159 flooded points in the entire area.

In the Ho Chi Minh City area (before the merger), 11 projects with a total capital of more than 24,445 billion VND will be implemented and completed, thereby solving 12 flooding points.

Two heavily flooded points on Le Van Tho street (section from street No. 1 to street No. 8) and Nguyen Van Khoi street (section from Le Van Tho street to Thong Tay Hoi Ward People's Committee) will be handled through the completion of the project to improve the environment of Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Nuoc Len canal and the project to improve the drainage system in this area.

For two moderate flooding points, including Duong Dinh Hoi street (from street 359 to street 10) and Nguyen Duy Trinh street (from Nguyen Tu Nghiem street to Nguyen Tuyen), they will be handled thanks to road upgrade projects and water drainage system maintenance completed in the year.

Dinh Bo Linh Street (from house number 230 to Nguyen Xi Street): Maintenance and repair project of the drainage system of Dinh Bo Linh Street (from Nguyen Xi Street to Chu Van An Street).

Binh Quoi Street (from Street No. 1 to house number 306): Thanh Da Peninsula landslide prevention projects (sections 2, 3, 4) along the Saigon River.

Phan Van Hon street (from Nguyen Anh Thu street to house number 121/3): Nguyen Anh Thu extended road project (old Huong lo 80B) and canal T1 renovation project (Ba Diem 1 drainage canal).

Truong Son Street (from Hau Giang Street to Nguyen Van Mai Street): Project to build the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road.

Parallel road to National Highway 22 (from Nguyen Anh Thu street to house number 14/4C, 37/23): Project to renovate Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Nuoc Len canal and add a drainage system, opening an additional drainage direction to Truong Chinh street.

National Highway 50 (from house number B17/13 to Nguyen Van Linh street): Project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 50 (section from Nguyen Van Linh street to street number 10).

Pham Hung Street (from house number 118 to Nguyen Van Linh Street): Pham Hung Street Surface Upgrade Project (from Nguyen Van Linh Street to Ta Quang Buu Street).

In Binh Duong (before the merger), 7 projects with a total capital of more than 12,552 billion VND will be completed, handling 4 heavy flooding points, including the three-way culvert area of Thich Quang Duc street and residential areas in Di An, Dong Hoa. The main solution is to upgrade the road surface and renovate the drainage system with state budget capital.

The Ba Ria - Vung Tau area (before the merger) implemented 6 completed projects with a total capital of about 960 billion VND, handling 13 flooded points.

Notably, the drainage line along National Highway 51 will contribute to solving a series of heavy flooding points in Phu My area. At the same time, many inner-city roads in Vung Tau and surrounding areas are also maintained and upgraded with drainage systems.
