According to the Vietnam National University of Agriculture, Vegetable, Fruit and Ornamental Technology is a major that provides in-depth knowledge and skills in researching, applying and producing ornamental flowers and plants with high economic value.

Students studying in this major are equipped with professional competence in the field of design, construction and landscape management, capable of analyzing, planning and solving landscape construction issues according to the requirements of practice and civilized socio-economic development.

In addition, students are also equipped with general knowledge to collaborate with industry groups close to landscape architecture such as: agronomy, forestry, architectural works, construction, urban planning...

Mr. Nguyen Manh Quynh - Vice Chairman, General Secretary of the Vietnam Ornamental Creatures Association - said that this industry is currently developing strongly not only in urban areas but also spreading in rural areas, where the demand for applying high-tech agriculture is increasing.

Therefore, the demand for human resources for the industry is also increasing rapidly, especially high-quality human resources, capable of meeting modern production requirements and sustainable development.

Wide open job opportunities

From the strong development momentum, the vegetable, fruit and landscape technology industry is opening up many diverse job opportunities for learners, not only in agricultural production but also in the fields of research, design and green space management.

Mr. Bui Ngoc Tan - Lecturer of the Faculty of Agriculture, Vietnam National University of Agriculture - said that through a survey of graduates, more than 90% have jobs after only about 3 months.

The income level is quite diverse depending on the position, starting from an average of 12 - 15 million VND/month and can increase to about 20 million VND after 3 - 6 months of probation. In particular, positions such as landscape design or technical supervision often have high income levels.
