At the closing and award ceremony of the 36th National Mechanical Olympiad in 2026 in the Central region held on June 14, 2026, at the University of Science and Technology (Da Nang University), Duy Tan University was selected as the host unit for the 37th National Mechanical Olympiad in 2027 in the Central region.
Participating in the 2026 exam, students (SV) of Duy Tan University won 10 awards (including 3 Third Prizes and 7 Consolation Prizes), affirming their academic ability at one of the most prestigious exams, which has been continuously maintained since 1989, for students of Engineering majors nationwide.
The National Mechanical Olympiad is an annual competition chaired by the Vietnam Mechanical Association, aimed at creating an environment for students of Engineering and Technology majors to show professional knowledge and thinking ability.
Through the exam, many young talents in the field of Mechanics are discovered, nurtured and oriented for development, contributing to supplementing high-quality human resources for research, teaching, and production. The exam is organized simultaneously in 3 regions: North, Central, and South with the hosting of universities in each region.

Students participate in the 2026 National Mechanical Olympiad with 8 exam subjects: Technical Mechanics, Material Suspension, Structural Mechanics, Hydraulic Engineering, Soil Mechanics, Mechanical Principles, Mechanical Details, and Application of Informatics in Mechanical Details.
The student delegation of Duy Tan University participated in competing in 7/8 exam subjects with a total of 33 students participating. With serious preparation and solid professional knowledge foundation, the student delegation of Duy Tan University won 10 awards.
Including: 2 third prizes in Material Strength, 1 third prize in Soil Mechanics; 7 consolation prizes in the subjects: Material Strength, Soil Mechanics, Structural Mechanics, and Mechanical Principles.
“The most I learned from the review and participation in the Mechanical Olympiad is not only professional knowledge but also perseverance in understanding the nature of each problem. Earth mechanics has many contents that require the ability to analyze and apply knowledge to the actual conditions of foundations and geology of works, so I spent a lot of time systematizing knowledge, practicing different types of exercises to find ways to solve complex problems.
The exam is an opportunity for me to assess my abilities, and at the same time train logical thinking, analytical skills and the ability to handle technical problems within a limited time. These experiences are very useful for students majoring in Construction, especially in designing and evaluating foundation projects later," Doan Mach Thanh Nam - a student majoring in Construction at Duy Tan University (winning the Third Prize in Earth Mechanics) shared.

The exam subjects that Duy Tan University students won prizes in at the 2026 National Mechanical Olympiad are all belonging to the foundational and core modules of the Construction and Mechanical Engineering sectors. These are subjects that require learners not only to master professional knowledge but also to have logical thinking, the ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems.
Studying and conquering these subjects helps students understand more deeply about the properties of materials, the behavior of structures, foundations of works, methods of analyzing, calculating, designing mechanisms and machine parts along with many Mechanical principles in engineering. From there, students gradually form the ability to design, construct, operate and optimize construction structures and machinery systems, meeting the practical requirements of the profession in the future.
Participating in the 36th National Mechanical Olympiad is an opportunity for us to try our hand, evaluate our abilities, accumulate experience, and develop professional thinking. I and my friends are very fortunate to always receive dedicated guidance from the lecturers of Duy Tan University. Teachers not only explain each type of test in detail, share effective learning methods, but also always accompany, encourage and motivate us throughout the process of reviewing and participating in the exam," Tran Nguyen Xuan Nhat - a student majoring in Construction of Duy Tan University, who won the Third Prize in Material Strength, affirmed.
Universities in the Central region that won many awards at the 2026 National Mechanical Olympiad include: University of Science and Technology (Da Nang University) won 57 prizes, Duy Tan University won 10 prizes, Central Vietnam University of Civil Engineering won 7 prizes, Nha Trang University won 5 prizes, and University of Technical Education (Da Nang University) won 3 prizes.
Duy Tan University is honored to be trusted by the Vietnam Mechanical Association to host the 37th National Mechanical Olympiad in 2027 in the Central region. The exam is expected to take place at the end of April or early May 2027.

At Duy Tan University, the majors: Construction, Automotive Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics are key training majors in the Engineering - Technology block, closely linked to the foundational knowledge system of Mechanics. The modules of Theoretical Mechanics, Material Strength, Structural Mechanics, Geomechanics, Hydraulic Engineering, Mechanical Principles, Mechanical Detachment are not only core contents in the curriculum but also a direct basis for students to access and solve technical problems in practice.
For the Construction industry, students are equipped with knowledge to analyze, design and assess the safety of works, from structure to foundation. The Construction Engineering field of Duy Tan University currently has a fairly high ranking: 101-150 in the world according to QS World Rankings by Subject 2026, and 151-200 in the world according to Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2025.
Duy Tan University's Construction Technology Program has also been officially recognized by the Accreditation Council for Technical and Technological Training Programs (Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission - ETAC) under the ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, USA), as meeting international ABET accreditation standards on August 28, 2025.

Meanwhile, in the majors of: Automotive Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechatronics, Duy Tan University focuses on applying mechanical principles and achievements in analyzing, designing, operating and optimizing machine details, machine clusters, and power transmission systems in machinery and vehicles.
Most recently, Duy Tan University launched a science and technology product: "Comprehensive Simulation and Interaction in Smart Automotive Engineering Training" to help students, instead of just learning theory, practice directly through simulation and comprehensive interaction technology to absorb technical and automotive mechanical knowledge.
