On August 22, Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking announced the adjustment of tuition fees for the 2026-2027 academic year. Notably, the school decided not to apply the regulation on collecting tuition fees for the expired training period in this academic year.
According to the announcement, the decision was made based on the actual situation and the study path of students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking.
In order to share and accompany students in their efforts to complete the training program on schedule, the School Board of Directors is now deciding that in the 2026-2027 school year, the regulation on collecting tuition fees beyond the training period at points b, c, section 9, clause 1, appendix issued with Decision No. 2684/QD-DHNH dated August 4, 2026 will not be applied," the school's notice stated.
This decision was made after many students expressed concerns and worries related to the school's new regulations on tuition fees, including the "overdue tuition fee" for students who exceed their training time.
Previously, some students reflected that although they had completed the study program, they still lacked output standards such as foreign language and informatics certificates, so they were at risk of having to pay additional tuition fees due to exceeding the training period.
Talking to Lao Dong on the same day, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung - Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking, said that as of the morning of August 22, most students who are overdue for training have contacted the school's Finance - Accounting Department to be answered about the overdue tuition fee regulations.
According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung, here, students are directly checked for information, consulted, and guided by functional departments through the Training Department to rebuild their study path and make a commitment to complete output standards to graduate on time.
