According to the Northern Hydrometeorological Station, the cause of rain is due to the influence of the tropical convergence zone with its axis passing through the Northern Delta region connecting to storm No. 4.

From the morning of August 22nd to the morning of August 24th, Hanoi city will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. Common rainfall is from 80 - 150mm, in some places over 200mm.

From the afternoon of August 24, Hanoi city will have rain, moderate rain. Common rainfall is from 15 - 30mm, in some places even heavier.

The Northern Regional Meteorological Agency warns that the level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain is level 1.

In thunderstorms, there may be tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind that break down trees, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.

Heavy rain in a short period of time can overload the urban drainage system, causing flooding in residential areas, urban areas and low-lying areas, traffic jams due to road flooding and reduced visibility when driving, causing slipperiness and traffic accidents.
