Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced the enrollment target of 9,680 students. In 2025, the university will maintain stability in 3 methods: Talent selection (20%), thinking assessment test results (40%) and high school graduation exam results (about 40%).
Compared to 2024, the admission quota based on high school graduation exam scores of Hanoi University of Science and Technology will decrease by about 10% (from 50% to 40%). Meanwhile, the quota based on the results of the school's thinking assessment exam will increase by 10% (from 30% to 40%).
National Economics University also adjusted the admission quota based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores to 15% (down 3% compared to last year). With the combined admission method according to its own project, the school reserved 83% of the quota, with 2% direct admission. Thus, over the past 5 years, National Economics University has reduced the admission quota based on high school graduation scores from 70% to 15%.
This year, the National Economics University only has 4 admission combinations, including: A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Math, Physics, English), D01 (Math, Literature, English) and D07 (Math, Chemistry, English). Candidates with IELTS from 7.5 - 9.0 will be converted to 10 points.
Hanoi National University of Education has also developed a roadmap to not rely too much on the high school graduation exam. Reducing the number of admission quotas based on high school graduation exam scores is also included in the school's capacity assessment exam organization plan. Specifically, the proportion of admission quotas based on capacity assessment exam scores organized by the school will gradually increase over the years and the proportion of using high school graduation exam scores will gradually decrease.

From 2025, the high school graduation exam will continue to be changed to suit the first generation of students following the new general education program.
Candidates take four subjects, including two compulsory subjects (Math and Literature), two optional subjects (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Literature, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Languages).
The Literature exam will be in essay format with a duration of 120 minutes. The exam consists of 2 parts: Reading (4 points) and Writing (6 points).
The remaining subjects will be tested in multiple-choice format, with Math taking 90 minutes and the remaining subjects taking 50 minutes.
