On September 17, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Xuan - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province informed that this morning, a working delegation from the Department will visit, share and encourage the family of a second grade student who was unfortunately killed by a truck in the school yard.
According to Ms. Xuan, at the same time, the Department will require educational institutions in the area to strengthen the supervision and management of vehicles entering and leaving schools to ensure the safety of students.
Schools do not allow parents' cars to pick up and drop off their children into the school, they can only stand outside the gate according to regulations.
Regarding this incident, at Nguyen Du Secondary School (Krong Nang district), immediately after the tragic accident in Krong Buk district, school leaders asked teachers to strictly comply and pay attention to parking on campus.
Accordingly, teachers and car drivers entering the school need to pay close attention, park in the right place, and not drive on school grounds to ensure student safety.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that at 6:40 a.m. on September 16, Mr. Luong Van Nghiem (born in 1992), residing in Ea Sin commune, Krong Buk district, used a pickup truck to take his child to school at Bui Thi Xuan Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Ea Sin commune).
Because it was raining, Mr. Nghiem drove into the school yard. After his child got out of the car, Mr. Nghiem reversed the car to turn around and went home, but did not pay attention and hit 3 students.
Student M (a second grader) was unfortunately run over and died, two other students fell and suffered minor injuries. After the incident, the authorities conducted a crime scene investigation and autopsy.
Considering that the case has signs of crime, the Investigation Police Agency of Krong Buk District Police has decided to temporarily detain Mr. Nghiem to carry out the handling steps according to the provisions of law.
