In 2025, the University of Information Technology (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) enrolls students through many different methods.
In the method of considering high school graduation exam results, Artificial Intelligence major led the whole school with a benchmark score of 29.6 points. Ranked next are Data Science majors with 27.7 points; Computer Science took 27.2 points; Microchip Design achieved 27 points.
Majors such as Information Technology (26.6 points); Information Security (26.27 points); Software Engineering (26.00 points) are also in the high benchmark score group.
In the opposite direction, it is recorded that some majors/training programs have easier benchmark scores.
The lowest benchmark score fell into the Computer Networking and Data Communication major with 24 points. Two training programs including Information Technology (Vietnam - Japan program) and Information Systems (Advanced program) both stopped at the benchmark score of 24.2 points.




In 2026, the University of Information Technology enrolls students using 2 admission methods: Direct admission and general admission (scale of 100 points).
The school also announced specific regulations on the input quality assurance threshold (floor score) for 2026:
For the results of the 2026 high school graduation exam, the input quality assurance threshold is 22 points applied to all majors and admission combinations.
Specifically, the Microchip Design and Microchip Design major (English teaching and learning program) has a floor score of 23 points, and candidates must achieve at least 7.5 points in Mathematics.
For the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City in 2026, the floor score is 717 points for all majors.
The two majors Microchip Design and Microchip Design (English Teaching and Learning Program) have an admission threshold of 761 points, and candidates must achieve a minimum of 195 points in the Math exam.
With international certificates, the school requires simultaneously meeting two groups of conditions.
In the first group of conditions, having an A-Level certificate achieving a percentage point (Percentage Uniform Mark - PUM) of the three highest subjects is 70%; or an International Baccalaureate (IB) from 30 points or higher or a high school graduation exam score in 2026.
In the second group of conditions, candidates must have a SAT score of 1,170 points or higher; or an ACT score of 26 points or higher, or a competency assessment test score organized by Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City in 2026 as prescribed.
In addition to the above conditions, candidates registering for English teaching and learning programs must have an international English certificate equivalent to IELTS 5.0 or higher.
