Dialogue with parents about why students have not yet gone to school

Quang Binh - The Quang Phuc ward government will organize a dialogue with parents to find solutions to bring students back to school.

On February 17, Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Phuc Ward (Ba Don Town, Quang Binh Province) said that mobilizing parents to send their children back to school is facing many obstacles.

According to the direction of the People's Committee of Ba Don town, this week, the local government will organize a dialogue with parents of Tan My group to find a common voice. However, the government still maintains its viewpoint, recommending that parents agree to let their children go to the main school to ensure safety and better learning conditions.

Mr. Phan Tien Lam - Principal of Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1 said that although teachers have coordinated with the government and functional forces to go to their homes to mobilize, most parents are still determined not to let their children go to the main school. Students at Tan My branch point have been absent from school for two weeks, greatly affecting their learning rights.

The school has implemented an online teaching plan, but many parents do not agree to let their children study.

"The long school break will make it difficult to make amends to keep up with the program," said Mr. Lam.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on February 6, after the Lunar New Year holiday, 154 students at Tan My school (Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1, Quang Phuc Ward) were still unable to return to class because parents opposed the decision to move from the branch school to study at the main school.

People said that the main school is nearly 2km from the branch school, making traveling difficult, so they want to continue studying at this school.

The People's Committee of Ba Don town said that at this school, there are 7 classrooms that are no longer safe.

Tan My branch school was built a long time ago and is easily affected by natural disasters. Therefore, the government has invited the Construction Quality Inspection Center (Quang Binh Department of Construction) for on-site inspection.

All 7 classrooms are seriously degraded. Many parts of the structure are no longer able to withstand the load, causing local danger and cannot continue to be used normally.

Therefore, the People's Committee of Ba Don town decided to temporarily close Tan My branch school and transfer all students to the main school - which has better facilities, spacious campus and full learning equipment.
