University of Industry and Trade Ho Chi Minh City 2026 benchmark score forecast: Many majors from 22-24.5 points

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade recorded nearly 83,000 candidates registering for admission in 2026. Many majors are forecast to have benchmark scores from 22-24.5 points.

After the end of the application registration period on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade said that it recorded nearly 83,000 candidates registering for admission, a decrease of more than 10,000 compared to 2025.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Pham Thai Son - Director of the Admissions and Communication Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade - said that the benchmark score according to the method of considering high school graduation exam scores in 2026 is forecast to be equivalent to last year.

According to Mr. Son, technical groups such as Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical - Electronic Engineering Technology, Control and Automation Engineering Technology are expected to have benchmark scores from 19-22 points.

The technology industry group continues to have high competitiveness. Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Information Security industries are forecast to reach 22-24.5 points.

In the economic block, the majors of Marketing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, E-commerce, International Business, Business Administration can get 22-24.5 points.

Meanwhile, Law and Economic Law majors are forecast to be from 22.5-23.5 points; English and Chinese languages are about 23.5-24 points.

The tourism, hotel management, tourism service management and travel industry groups may fluctuate between 22-23 points.

For other admission methods, the expected benchmark score is higher.

According to the high school transcript review method, the majors Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Economic Law can achieve 26.5-27.5 points; English and Chinese languages about 27 points; Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence about 25.5 points.

In the method of considering scores for the capacity assessment exam of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, the group of engineering and technology majors is expected to have a benchmark score below 750 points; the group of economics, tourism and languages fluctuates around 700-800 points.

Explaining the decrease in the number of registered candidates compared to last year, Mr. Pham Thai Son said that part of the reason comes from the new regulations requiring candidates to achieve a minimum of 15 points according to the 3-subject combination of the high school graduation exam to be eligible to register for university admission.

In addition, in 2026, each candidate can only register a maximum of 15 aspirations, instead of unlimited as before.

In 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade stipulates a floor score of 16-20 points for the high school graduation exam score method. In which, Law and Economic Law majors receive applications from 20 points, and the remaining majors from 16 points.

With the transcript review method and specialized assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, the floor score is 20 points for all majors. For the capacity assessment exam score review method of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Law and Economic Law majors have a floor score of 720 points, and the remaining majors are 600 points.

In 2025, the benchmark score according to the high school graduation exam score method of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade ranges from 17-24.5 points.

In the remaining methods, the benchmark score for reviewing academic records in 2025 ranges from 20.33-26.5 points; the benchmark score for reviewing the results of the competency assessment exam of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City from 607-800 points; the benchmark score according to the results of the specialized assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education from 20.25-26.25 points.
