Need to take strong action against unlicensed beauty service consultants

Many beauty establishments still promote and advise on NMN, NAD+ and stem cell infusion therapies even though these services are not licensed in the field of aesthetics.

Beauty is a legitimate need. But beauty with techniques not yet permitted by management agencies is no longer a story of aesthetics, but has become a story of community health and management responsibility.

A survey report by Lao Dong Newspaper shows that many beauty establishments still publicly promote and advise on NMN, NAD+, and stem cell infusion services with promises such as "rejuvenation from within", "reverse aging", "complete body recovery", even though these techniques have not been licensed in the field of aesthetics.

What is worrying is that many customers have believed that those services are legal when the facility continuously introduces itself as a clinic, with doctors, with imported drugs, and with full papers.

But a medical facility's operating license does not mean that all services provided by that facility are permitted by law.

Those are two completely different concepts.

A medical technique that wants to be deployed must undergo a process of evaluating effectiveness, safety, professional procedures and be approved by a management agency. That is the principle to protect patients before protecting business operations.

If that principle is underestimated, the first person to bear the risk is the customer.

The detail that makes many people wonder in the report is that when customers said they had thyroid tumors, the staff admitted that NMN should not be transfused, but immediately afterwards introduced glutathione replacement infusion. They even advised that it could be transfused first and then monitored, if the tumor develops, then stop.

Such advice makes people ask the question: is the highest goal protecting customer health or trying to keep a service for sale?

Medicine does not operate according to the principle of "testing". Because if "testing" causes adverse reactions, the person who bears the consequences is not the consultant but the customer.

Another noteworthy point is that terms such as "stem cells", "NMN", "NAD+", "anti-aging cells" are being used more and more commonly as "golden keywords" in advertising.

Most consumers do not have enough professional knowledge to distinguish between scientific research results, techniques that have been allowed to be applied, and just marketing methods.

That information gap becomes an opportunity for attractive advertisements to take effect.

Many people are willing to spend tens of millions of VND, or even more, just with the desire to stay young and healthier. But what they buy is often not a proven treatment method, but hope built up with very convincing introductions.

That is why management agencies need to take stronger action against unlicensed advertising and provision of medical and aesthetic services.

Handling should not only stop at administrative fines but also publicize violations so that people can identify them, and at the same time strengthen inspection of advertising activities on social networks - where these services are being marketed rampantly every day.

On the consumer side, before any promises about "rejuvenation", "rapid rejuvenation" or "complete recovery", the first question to ask is not how much the price is, but: has this service been permitted by the Ministry of Health or not?

Beauty can gradually improve over time. But health cannot be tested with therapies that are still outside the legal framework and not fully verified.
