The conference is organized in the context of artificial intelligence (AI) having an increasingly wide impact on music composition, production and performance activities, attracting more than 300 delegates from many training institutions, research institutes and reputable professional organizations, such as:
Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, Hue Academy of Music, Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City University of Pedagogy, Vietnam Musicians Association, Ho Chi Minh City Cinema Association and many universities, colleges and units training and composing music nationwide.
The conference is organized to connect interdisciplinary knowledge between music - culture - technology, thereby exchanging and proposing solutions to preserve the "soul" of Vietnamese music in the digital age, when AI is increasingly deeply involved in the process of artistic creation.
The organizing committee selected 32 typical papers, focusing on groups of issues such as: innovating music composition and performance methods with AI support; applying AI in preserving and spreading traditional music heritage; issues of copyright, ethics and the risk of aesthetic assimilation; training music human resources to adapt to digital transformation.
Some prominent presentations were presented at the conference, such as: Preserving and promoting traditional heritage music in the current context from the perspective of art training units in the Central Highlands region by Dr. Ha Mai Huong - Director of Hue Academy of Music; Applying traditional cultural materials in music products towards cultural technology products bearing the identity of Ho Chi Minh City by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi My Liem - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association; From concern to creation: Building AI with Vietnamese identity in film music by MSc. Meritorious Artist Ngo Pham Hanh Thuy - Member of the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Cinema Association.
In addition, presentations on training and composition such as Personal Voice Colors in the AI era (MSc. Huynh Hoang Cu) or AI and the risk of aesthetic assimilation in contemporary Vietnamese music composition (MSc. Nong Xuan Hieu) have suggested many new issues in teaching, researching and practicing music today.
Speaking at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang - Vice Rector of Van Hien University - said that AI brings many opportunities for the creative field, but application needs to be selective and responsible, so that technology becomes a tool to support people's creativity, without fading cultural identity.
According to the organizers, the conference does not only stop at academic exchange but also contributes to expanding the cooperation network between training institutions and art units, thereby affirming the role of Van Hien University in researching and training the field of music in the context of digital transformation.
