Prof. Dr. Tran Diep Tuan, born in 1967 (formerly from Kien Giang), is an expert in pediatrics and medical education.
He has worked at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy since 1989 and has held many positions such as lecturer, Vice Rector, Rector, Chairman of the University Council and Secretary of the Party Committee.
He graduated as a medical doctor in Pediatrics in 1989, completed as a specialist doctor in Pediatrics in 1997. In 2003, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis at Tokyo University, Japan; in 2005, he completed a postdoctoral research program in neurology at the University of Michigan, USA.
In 2009, he was recognized as Associate Professor and recognized as Professor of Medicine, majoring in Pediatrics in 2020.
The reappointment to the position of Principal marks the return of Prof. Dr. BS Tran Diep Tuan after nearly 6 years of not directly running the school, continuing to lead one of the leading health training institutions in the country.
Mr. Tran Diep Tuan was appointed Rector after Mr. Ngo Quoc Dat - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy - was appointed by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to hold the position of Rector of Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University from July 1, 2026.
