In the 2024-2025 school year, the city's education and training achievements continued to maintain the top position in the country with 199 students winning national excellent student awards, ranking 3rd nationwide; 4 science and technology projects winning national prizes, including 1 international competition project; especially 1 student winning a Silver Medal at the International Biology Olympiad. The quality of mass education continued to be improved, the 2025 high school graduation exam ranked 6th nationwide in terms of average score, graduation rate reached 99.6%.
The field of high-performance sports also achieved many outstanding results. The city organized and hosted 11 national tournaments, 1 international tournament; Hai Phong athletes participated in SEA Games 33, winning 24 medals. In total, high-performance athletes of the city participated in 214 domestic and international tournaments, winning 1,492 medals of all kinds, breaking 5 national records, continuing to affirm Hai Phong's sports position.
This year is the 21st year the city has organized a ceremony to commend outstanding students. At the ceremony, the city commended 225 outstanding students; including 152 students who won international and national prizes in culture, science and technology, UPU international letter writing; 28 students participating in the 2025 high school graduation exam achieved high scores and passed into universities and academies at home and abroad; 47 students who graduated as valedictorians with honors or higher at universities in the city and students from Hai Phong who graduated as valedictorians with honors or higher at universities and academies throughout the country; commended 25 athletes and 16 coaches of Hai Phong who achieved high results at SEA Games 33.
Speaking at the commendation ceremony, Mr. Le Tien Chau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the City National Assembly Delegation emphasized that the individuals commended today are bright examples, typical flowers of the tradition of studiousness, the spirit of overcoming difficulties and the aspiration to rise up of Hai Phong people in the new era.
Today's achievement is the pride of every student, athlete, family, teacher and the whole city; at the same time, it also opens a new path with higher requirements, greater challenges and heavier responsibilities. The city believes that each individual will continue to nurture passion, maintain the desire to rise up; constantly study, train, and improve their personality; promote the will to overcome difficulties, the spirit of honesty and nobility in studying, competing and in life, so that each success is not only personal glory but also spreads good values to the community and society.
Secretary of the City Party Committee believes that education and sports are two important factors that create successful people: education for nurturing intelligence, sports for training will. When intelligence and will go hand in hand, comprehensive people will be formed, with knowledge, physical strength, bravery, discipline and aspiration to rise up. That is the most valuable resource, the most important endogenous strength of the city in the development process.
