What is the major in multimedia communication? What is different about Journalism and Digital Marketing?... is a question that many candidates and parents are interested in asking at the recent admission counseling program held at the University of Technology - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
Responding to this question, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Quang Hao - admission consultant at Nguyen Tat Thanh University said that it is understandable that candidates cannot distinguish between nearly the same majors.
According to Mr. Hao, Digital Marketing is a related industry in the field of Economics (business Administration). However, there are many students who confuse this major with the media. "Marketing uses communication tools, but in reality these are different industries," Mr. Hao analyzed.
Similarly, the same goes for the Multimedia and Journalism industry, although there are similarities, the difference is still the large number.
Associate Professor, Dr. Hao explained that if the Press focuses on reporting authentic information, Multimedia Communications focuses on using modern technology tools to create and produce communication products to achieve a specific goal (commercial, entertainment, education, etc.).
According to Mr. Hao, the Multimedia Communications industry is currently a hot industry, attracting attention because of the wide range of job opportunities.
"The labor market of students majoring in Multimedia Communications is not only limited to agencies and businesses but also to the huge "playground" named after social networks, where young people can freely start a business, becoming independent content creators," said Mr. Hao.
In addition, he said that students of Multimedia Communications not only learn about ideas but are also well-trained in technology, design software, film making, special effects, combined with applied artistic thinking to create eye-catching, attractive products, especially aimed at young people in the digital space.
