On March 5, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting with relevant departments, branches and localities to listen to the report on the draft Enrollment Plan for 10th grade high school in the 2026 - 2027 school year in the province.
According to a report by the Department of Education and Training, it is expected to enroll about 85% of secondary school graduates in the 2025-2026 school year into 10th grade at high schools, secondary schools and high schools, ethnic minority boarding schools, continuing education centers and vocational education institutions that provide continuing education programs at the high school level.
According to the draft, in the 2026 - 2027 school year, the whole province is expected to enroll about 25,115 students into 10th grade.
Specifically, 2 Le Quy Don Specialized High Schools are expected to enroll 15 classes with 525 students; ethnic minority boarding schools enroll 8 classes with 280 students; public high schools, junior high schools and high schools enroll 424 classes with 18,765 students.
In addition, non-public high schools, continuing education centers and vocational education institutions that organize continuing education programs at the high school level are expected to enroll 132 classes with 5,545 students.
Regarding the enrollment method, it is expected to apply the exam form to specialized schools and public secondary and high schools with the number of registered candidates exceeding the assigned quota.
Meanwhile, the admission consideration form will be applied to ethnic minority boarding schools, high schools that do not organize entrance exams, continuing education centers and vocational education institutions that organize continuing education programs at the high school level.
According to the plan, the 10th grade entrance exam will be held on June 4 and 5, 2026. Students will take 3 subjects including Math, Literature and English; students registering for specialized schools will take additional specialized subjects accordingly.
It is expected that the recruitment will be completed before June 25, 2026 and the results will be announced before June 30, 2026.
At the meeting, representatives of schools basically agreed with the enrollment plan proposed by the Department of Education and Training.
However, some schools proposed applying the form of entrance exams instead of admission consideration, and at the same time expanding the enrollment area in some localities to facilitate students' travel.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Ha requested the Department of Education and Training to absorb the opinions of schools and localities to complete the draft plan.
In which, it is necessary to balance enrollment targets between regions and schools, ensuring the rights of students and meeting the travel conditions of parents and students.
After completion, the draft plan will continue to be consulted with localities before being submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for official promulgation.
