In order to enhance awareness and digital skills for secondary and high school students nationwide, the Department of Information Security coordinated with Meta Group, Vietnet Information Technology - Communication Center (Vietnet-ICT) and VTC Netviet Technology and Communication Joint Stock Company to open the course "Digital skills and Internet safety for students" and posted on the popular online learning platform Onetouch.
The course is part of the "Digital Times Thinking" program, implemented within the framework of Decision No. 830/QD-TTg dated June 1, 2021 of the Prime Minister on protecting and supporting children to interact healthily and creatively in the online environment for the period 2021-2025.
Through the course, middle and high school students will be equipped with essential knowledge including digital skills and online safety. The highlight of the program is the special attention to deaf students when designing learning materials combined with sign language in teaching, suitable for their learning ability.
This is a meaningful first step, opening up opportunities for equal access to knowledge for all students, including children with disabilities, to be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to be safe in the online environment.
The course "Digital skills and Internet safety for students" is designed methodically, easily understood, suitable for the psychology and acquisition of middle and high school students, including 5 main topics: Introducing the digital world; Digital platform knowledge; Digital health; Digital interaction; Preventing fraud on the Internet.
The topics not only provide theoretical knowledge but also have practical exercises and practical situations to help students practice critical thinking and self-defense skills in the online environment. In particular, the content is updated according to the latest technology trends, helping students not only use the Internet safely but also know how to effectively exploit digital platforms to serve personal learning and development.
In the context of strong technological development, children and adolescents spend most of their online time studying, entertaining and communicating. However, it comes with benefits such as online bullying, cyber fraud, privacy infringement and Internet addiction. Therefore, equipping students with digital skills and self-defense knowledge is more urgent than ever.
