On May 27, social networks were spreading information that the second round of the capacity assessment exam of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City had some errors.
A candidate taking the exam at the Au Lac College exam site (Hue City) said that in exam code 259, question 66, the content was blurred, making it difficult for candidates to observe. This candidate also said that question 68 of the same exam code lacked information and did not have suitable answers in the choices.
In addition, on another post, this candidate said that some questions in the exam questions showed signs of overlap with the exam questions of other units (not clearly stated) and were reused in the competency assessment exam.
According to candidates, this may create an advantage for those who have approached similar types of questions before.
On the same day, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh - Director of the Center for Testing and Evaluation of Training Quality of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, said that the unit has grasped the feedback spreading on social networks.
However, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh said that according to the current process, the department in charge has not directly approached the exam questions because it is in the exam grading stage.
Only after completing the grading process can the professional department be exposed to the questions to specifically check and verify the feedback.
Currently, we cannot give an official response because we have not accessed the exam questions. All information needs to be verified according to the correct procedure before being announced," Mr. Chinh said.
Regarding the reflection that the exam questions were reused from another unit, he affirmed that the principle of building exam questions for the competency assessment exam is to have a separate process, with the participation of many experts and there is no reuse of exam questions from other units.
However, he said that all current information still needs to be verified before there is an official conclusion.
Representatives of the exam organizing unit said that they have received feedback and will check and verify to have feedback after completing the steps according to regulations.
According to the plan, the results of the second round of competency assessment exams will be announced by Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City on June 6.
