Updating standard schools according to the Circular
On July 13, talking to Lao Dong reporter, Mr. Thai Viet Tuong - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Nam province said that the fact that 167 schools in the province met national standards by 2023, but failed to meet standards after 1 year, was mainly due to due to degraded and unreliable facilities.
However, this situation also reflects the lack of synchronous investment in education, focusing only on building classrooms and offices, but lacking amusement parks and multi-purpose houses... One shortcoming is that many new schools are built. built according to national standards of Circulars 17, 18, 19 issued in 2018, are outdated compared to the criteria according to Circular 13 issued in 2020 of the Ministry of Education and Training.
“For example, according to Circular 13/2020, schools must have multi-purpose buildings, but most schools in Quang Nam currently do not have multi-purpose buildings. Among them, the newly built schools are very beautiful, like Nguyen Hue High School (Nui Thanh district with a total investment of nearly 60 billion VND, area of 4.2 hectares, started construction in 2019 - PV) but lacks a playground for students. students and especially multi-purpose houses, so they do not meet standards" - Mr. Tuong said.
Focus on real quality
In fact, recently, Quang Nam has made a large investment in the education sector to serve the goal of raising national standards. However, many billion-dollar school projects are behind schedule, causing schools to fail to meet their goals of maintaining and raising standards.
On the contrary, there are also many schools in difficult areas with synchronous investment such as Thai Phien Secondary School, in Tam Thanh coastal commune, Tam Ky city, which has become the first secondary school to meet national level 2 standards after 5 years. year of the whole province.
Ms. Tran Thi Minh - Principal of Thai Phien Secondary School said that the school currently has 3 blocks of 2 floors, a mini football field, and a library that also meets standards. Regarding the quality of mass and spearhead training, it is always at the top of Eastern schools, more than 90% of teachers currently have qualifications meeting or above standards.
In 2024, Tam Ky City continues to allocate capital of more than 14 billion VND to build a new multi-purpose house, renovate the garden, classrooms, toilets, fire protection items... This is a great joy. big for teachers and students in the context that the lives of people in coastal communes still have many difficulties - Ms. Minh shared.
According to Mr. Tuong, regulations for schools meeting national standards have 5 general standards including: School organization and management; administrators, teachers, staff and students; teaching facilities and equipment; relationships between school, family and society; educational activities and educational outcomes. And nearly 30 specific criteria.
The Department has proposed to the competent authorities to invest in facilities for schools in a methodical, synchronous, and functional manner. Not only investing in classroom items, but also investing in physical education, entertainment, and entertainment items... Because the standard school's requirement is to provide comprehensive educational training.
Regarding the issue of building standard schools, Mr. Le Van Dung - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province has directed relevant units to soon resolve problems and speed up the construction progress of these schools. school delay. At the same time, focus on building truly standard school quality, not chasing after achievements or coping.
