In recent days, images of the principal of Quang Vinh Primary School (Trung Khanh - Cao Bang) swimming through floodwaters to inspect the school's facilities have been circulating on social media platforms.
Many people expressed their admiration for the teachers' spirit in their journey of spreading knowledge in the highlands and border areas.
On the morning of August 29, speaking with reporters, Mr. Hoang Van Dong - Head of the Education Department of Trung Khanh district said: "In the past few days, 3 kindergartens, Quang Vinh Primary School and Quang Vinh Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities were deeply flooded. Today, the primary school and kindergarten are no longer flooded."
According to Mr. Dong, the unit is mobilizing teachers from the school and neighboring schools to come and clean up in time for the new school year opening ceremony.
"If the floodwaters at the boarding school do not recede in time, all students will start the new school year at Quang Vinh Primary School as planned, like the rest of the country," said the Head of the Education Department of Trung Khanh District.
On the same day, speaking to reporters, Mr. Luong Van Hop - Chairman of Quang Vinh Commune People's Committee said: "The flood water has receded a bit but some areas are still flooded. It is predicted that it will take until the end of this week for the flood water to recede completely."
Functional units are also ready, waiting for the water to recede, to mobilize local staff and forces to join hands in cleaning the school, helping students to study with peace of mind.
It is known that in the 2024-2025 school year, Quang Vinh commune has more than 200 students studying, most of whom have boarding meals at school.
