Potential majors
Welding technology belongs to the engineering industry in the field of mechanics. In the era of industrialization and modernization of the country, the demand for human resources in the welding technology industry is increasing, opening up diverse job opportunities for students. Understanding this, many candidates have determined to study, hoping to find potential jobs.
Sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Kieu Duc Minh - a student majoring in Welding Technology, Hanoi College of Technology, said: "I decided to study Welding Technology because this industry plays a very important role in the current era of industrialization and modernization.
Many products to reach the hands of users are related to welding technology, connecting components. The industry's demand for human resources, especially high-quality human resources, will increase day by day."
Diverse job opportunities and high starting salaries after graduation are also the reasons why Nguyen Quang Truong - a student majoring in Welding Technology, decided to pursue and stick with this field of study.
“After graduating from Welding Technology, I can choose to work in domestic enterprises or export labor to work in foreign markets. The new graduate salary is quite good, over 10 million VND/month is also a good start" - Truong said.
Good job opportunities, high salary
Assessing the development potential of the industry, Mr. Tran Ngoc Quy - Head of Welding Technology Department, Hanoi College of Technology said that - Welding Technology will open up many job opportunities with high salaries.
“Job opportunities and remuneration in the industry are very diverse. After graduation, students majoring in Welding Technology can take on technical positions in industrial production projects such as oil pipelines, hydroelectric projects, shipyards, automobile and motorbike factories, etc. In addition, graduates of this major can also choose to export labor to countries such as Japan, Korea, Germany, etc.
The salary for graduates of Welding Technology working in domestic enterprises ranges from 10 to 20 million VND/month. In the case of labor export, the compensation will be higher, ranging from 60 to 100 million VND/month. The high or low compensation depends on the ability of each student" - Mr. Tran Ngoc Quy said.
According to lecturers, students studying engineering, including Welding Technology, need to have certain qualities. Giving advice to students, Mr. Hoang Van Tung - lecturer at Hanoi College of Technology said that - accumulating knowledge and practicing skills is the way for students to improve their own value, thereby opening up more job opportunities.
“Students need to master knowledge, practice and improve their skills. Technical fields have their own characteristics, requiring candidates to have logical thinking, meticulousness and carefulness to ensure the accuracy of the product.
In addition, students should also practice their ability to adapt to advances in science and technology as well as changes in the market, especially improving their foreign language skills," Mr. Tung advised.
