According to the Department of Education and Training, in the 2024-2025 school year, the Kien Giang education sector has set out 16 key tasks, including continuing to perfect institutions, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of education and training; improving the quality of preschool education, general education and continuing education.

Strive for the whole province to have 6 districts and 74 communes achieving universalization of lower secondary education at level 3; strive to achieve and exceed the targets for secondary school graduation and high school graduation rate in 2025 in the school year 2024 - 2025; raise the high school graduation rate higher than the previous year; increase the rate of students passing the entrance exam to universities and colleges.
Mr. Tran Quang Bao - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Kien Giang province - said: In the new school year, the department focuses on directing educational institutions to coordinate with local authorities to carry out the work of checking the cultural level of people aged 0 to 60 to ensure accuracy. Coordinate to mobilize students and trainees to go to class to carry out the work of universalizing education and eliminating illiteracy according to the assigned targets. Carry out the work of updating and completing statistical data on the management software system; organize timely inspection and assessment of the work of universalizing education and eliminating illiteracy on schedule. Continue to review and adjust the planning of the network of schools, classes, and students; increase the rate of solidifying schools and classrooms; develop schools and classrooms in areas with rapidly growing populations and densely populated areas.
From now until the end of 2024, complete the Project to purchase teaching equipment for grades 3, 4, 7, 10 and natural science equipment (junior high school); classrooms for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Technology (high school) of the 2018 general education program.
