On August 13, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh - Principal of Vinh Loc High School (Vinh Loc Commune, Thanh Hoa Province) - said that the person in the clip of the student slapping circulating online was teacher V.X.T., English teacher of the school, and the child was a 7th grade student at Pham Van Hinh Secondary School (Tay Do Commune, Thanh Hoa Province).
According to initial information, Mr. T. is related to the childs family (Mr. T. calls the students parents uncles uncle). The student's family has been teaching Mr. T. since grade 3 until now" - Mr. Tinh said.
According to Mr. Tinh, the reason for the incident was that during the summer, this student told his friend that Mr. T. was confusing. After hearing the information, Mr. T. went to the house, in front of the student's mother and slapped her 3 times in the face "to teach from the perspective of the family".
Regarding the incident, a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province said that they have asked the Principal of Vinh Loc High School to report.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, a clip appeared on social media recording a scene of a man riding a motorbike to a resident's house and slapping a small child many times in the face. The clip shows the incident occurring at 9:33 a.m. on August 8, 2025.
The incident was later determined to have occurred in Vinh Long commune, the old Vinh Loc district (now Tay Do commune, Thanh Hoa province).
The incident is currently being investigated by the authorities.
