Nghe An - From a conflict on social networks, an 8th grade female student in Que Phong commune was invited by a group of friends to the field and then ganged up on, and had to be hospitalized for treatment.

On May 20, a clip circulated on social networks recording the scene of a female student being ganged up on by a group of friends in the field area. The victim was identified as L.N. L, an 8th grade student, Kim Son Secondary School, Que Phong commune, Nghe An province.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Lang Van Thang - Principal of Kim Son Secondary School - confirmed that the incident happened on the afternoon of May 10.

According to the family's report sent to the school, after being assaulted, L. returned home in a state of panic, with many injuries on her body, accompanied by symptoms of dizziness and nausea. The family then took the female student to Que Phong Medical Center for examination and treatment.

Immediately after receiving the information, the school invited relevant students to make a report, and at the same time coordinated with Que Phong Commune Police to verify and clarify the incident.

Initial verification results showed that the cause of the incident stemmed from a conflict on social networks. After that, the children arranged to go out to "resolve the matter", leading to a scuffle.

According to Mr. Thang, the group participating in assaulting L. included 5 female students studying at Kim Son Secondary School, from grades 6 to 9, and 2 female students from other schools who have dropped out of school.

Que Phong Commune Police determined that the case showed signs of the act of "intentionally causing injury or harm to the health of others".

Regarding the information that L. was beaten continuously for many hours, Mr. Thang said that the incident happened in a short time, not lasting many hours as the information spread on social networks.

After the incident, the school organized visits and encouraged L. to stabilize her psychology and health to return to school soon to participate in the final exam.

Regarding the handling direction, the Principal of Kim Son Secondary School said that the violating students wrote self-criticism reports, received grades for the second semester's training results at an unqualified level and had to practice in the summer.
