According to statistics, this year top schools such as Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, Gia Dinh High School, Nguyen Huu Huan High School, Mac Dinh Chi High School or Bui Thi Xuan High School continue to attract a large number of registered students, causing the level of competition to increase.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha (Binh Dong ward) said that her daughter initially registered aspiration 1 for Bui Thi Xuan High School, aspiration 2 for Ten Lo Man High School and aspiration 3 for Vo Van Kiet High School. However, after monitoring the number of registrations, the family decided to adjust aspiration 1 to Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School because the competition ratio was lower.
With my child's academic ability and the above way of placing aspirations, a scholarship to a public school is quite certain, but the family wants my child to study in a better environment, so they are somewhat hesitant," Ms. Ha said.
Similarly, Tran Minh Quan, a 9th grade student in Ben Thanh ward, said he is hesitant between keeping his first wish at Trung Vuong High School or transferring to Marie Curie High School to increase his chances of admission.
I like studying at Trung Vuong High School, but the benchmark score is usually higher than Marie Curie High School. The competition ratio of the 2 schools is not too different, so I am still considering it," Minh Quan shared.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Gia Han, a 9th grade student in Binh Dong ward, said that she will not adjust her previous registered aspirations.
Gia Han placed the first wish at Ta Quang Buu High School, the second wish at Luong Van Can High School and the third wish at Nguyen Van Linh High School.
These are schools near my house and suitable for my learning ability," Gia Han said.
In many secondary schools, in the last days of adjusting aspirations, teachers must continuously advise students on how to arrange 3 reasonable aspirations.
According to teachers, properly assessing your abilities is still the most important thing when registering and adjusting aspirations.

According to Ms. Tram, instead of worrying too much about the competition ratio or constantly changing aspirations, students should focus on reviewing and preparing well for the upcoming exam.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City in the 2026-2027 school year has more than 151,000 registered candidates, while the total target for public high schools is more than 180,000 students.
