On September 11, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province confirmed that it had issued a document requesting the leaders of Victory Primary, Secondary and High School (Victory School) to contact parents and allow D.T.L (class 9A8) to continue studying at school.
The Department requested Victory School to report the contents related to the suspension of student D.T.L from August 26 to present.
According to the school's report, D.T.L was absent from school from August 15 to 22 and had missed school in previous school years.
When L was absent from school, parents did not proactively ask for permission. The school only collects information about students absent from school through homeroom teachers.
On August 26, based on repeated violations, showing disrespect to regulations, the school temporarily suspended students from going to school to assess the level of violation and discuss handling with parents.
Also according to the school's report, on September 3, the school worked with the representative of L's parents. At the same time, parents were recommended to consider the option of transferring students to a learning environment that is more suitable for family conditions and circumstances.
On September 9, L's mother returned from Korea and filed a complaint. On September 10, the school had a working session and parents took responsibility for not allowing students to return to school on time as prescribed. Thereby, committing to strictly implementing the school's regulations.
The school will also create conditions for students to return to school from September 11 and assign teachers to supplement their knowledge.
Meanwhile, Ms. N.T.T.T (L's mother) confirmed that she had returned her son to school on the morning of September 11, but she personally did not agree with the school's explanation.
Ms. T said that the school's statement that the family let L stay home from school without permission was untrue and she had a basis to prove it.
She asked the school to clarify the responsibilities of individuals and groups that have not allowed their children to go to school in the past 10 days.
