On the evening of May 26, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology announced that the school was officially licensed by the Ministry of Education and Training to train in Medicine, major code 7720101, according to Decision No. 1372/QD-BGDDT.
According to the announcement, the medical major at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology has a training period of 6 years with 210 credits. Graduates are awarded a Doctor of Medicine degree according to current regulations.
The training program includes foundational modules such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology - Parasitology, Basic Nursing; at the same time, deploying many clinical modules such as Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Anesthesia and Resuscitation, Family Medicine, Diagnostic Imaging, Psychiatry and Rehabilitation.
HUTECH said it will integrate new technologies in training such as clinical simulation, medical data, artificial intelligence (AI), electronic learning records and simulated electronic medical records.
According to Dr. Nguyen Quoc Anh - Vice Rector of HUTECH, the school aims to train a team of doctors with solid professional foundations, good practical skills, medical communication skills and professional ethics standards.

In 2026, HUTECH's medical major enrolls students through many methods including considering high school graduation exam scores, high school transcripts, performance assessment exam scores of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, V-SAT exam results, along with direct admission, priority admission, and international certificates.
For admission methods using transcripts, V-SAT scores or competency assessment scores, candidates must meet the conditions of grade 12 academic performance being good or excellent or high school graduation score from 8.0 or higher according to the regulations of the health industry group.
The admission combinations include: Math - Chemistry - Biology; Math - Chemistry - English; Math - Chemistry - Literature; Math - Chemistry - Physics; Math - Biology - English; Math - Biology - Literature.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology added that it will award 30% tuition fee scholarships for the entire course to students studying Medicine. Candidates wishing to apply for scholarships need to register and submit evidence of high school academic results according to the school's regulations before June 30, 2026.
