Ensuring the progress of 10th grade enrollment, proactively supplementing staff
According to the Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) of Da Nang City, the enrollment work for preschool, primary school, secondary school and high school levels for the 2026-2027 school year has basically been completed. Currently, public high schools in the area are focusing maximum resources to complete the receipt of applications and procedures for enrollment for 10th grade students no later than August 15. At the same time, primary and secondary schools are also urgently carrying out class divisions, helping first-grade students soon stabilize their psychology and be ready for the gathering before the opening ceremony.
In the 2026-2027 school year, the number of students at public schools directly under the Department of Education and Training is expected to increase by 9,241 students (equivalent to 139 classes); schools directly under the People's Committees of communes and wards will increase by 8,798 students (equivalent to 379 classes). This reality leads to a shortage of 5,349 educational career staff quotas compared to actual needs.
Therefore, in early August, the Da Nang Department of Education and Training organized teacher recruitment for 6 inter-level boarding schools. At the same time, the city is receiving applications for recruitment of 22 teacher quotas from excellent graduates according to the attraction policy of Decree 179/2024/ND-CP to supplement specialized high schools. City leaders also requested the education sector to review, arrange, and consolidate the team in accordance with task requirements, combined with organizing professional training and summer political training for managers and teachers.
Ensuring facilities and textbooks before the opening day
According to Da Nang City People's Committee, up to now, the preparation of facilities, teaching equipment and textbooks is being implemented synchronously. For 6 inter-level boarding primary and secondary schools in land border communes, leaders of the City People's Committee directed contractors to work overtime, increase shifts, and mobilize more than 2,700 construction workers to complete the entire project, install teaching equipment, dining halls, and dormitories before August 30.
The Department of Education and Training directs all educational institutions in the area to review and inventory the current status of teaching equipment for repair, maintenance or additional procurement. In August, inter-sectoral inspection teams of the Department will directly inspect the actual preparation situation at units. City leaders emphasized the requirement to complete the equipment of school supplies, tables, chairs, and classroom equipment no later than August 20 to ensure operating conditions right from the first day of the school year.
In particular, Da Nang is expected to allocate more than 143.8 billion VND to provide common textbooks for general education and continuing education students in the 2026-2029 period. As of the end of July, the whole city has mobilized 19,268 new sets of textbooks and 16,219 sets of used books through the "Common Bookcase" models, the "Day of Love" program. The city's education sector is determined not to let any students lack textbooks or school supplies when entering the opening ceremony on September 5.
