Previously, information appeared on social networks with the content that just because parents did not pay the cleaning fee, the school "toughened up" the parents by forcing students to work, cleaning until 7pm, locking the doors to "lock" the children in the rainy weather.
The incident is said to have occurred at Truong Son Secondary School (Truong Son Commune, Nong Cong District, Thanh Hoa Province).
According to Ms. Truong Thi Yen - Principal of Truong Son Secondary School, the image of the school gate in the post on social media groups is indeed the school's. However, the content is fabricated and incorrect.
The principal of Truong Son Secondary School said that at around 5:00 p.m. on October 15, after finishing the last afternoon class, students of classes 7A and 7B had a work schedule, sweeping the school yard and cleaning the school's two restrooms.
At around 6pm the same day, the students finished their work. A photo of the students standing inside the school gate was taken by a parent who was picking up their child and posted on the class group with the caption "Children should work earlier".
However, the photo was later leaked with false content, causing public misunderstanding and outrage.
"According to regulations, secondary school students do not have to contribute money for cleaning but will be assigned cleaning schedules for their classes. The cleaning schedule is not fixed, each day the school assigns 2 classes. Classes without afternoon classes will work from 3 p.m. Classes with afternoon classes will work after the last class of the day," said Ms. Yen.
According to Ms. Yen, after receiving the information, on the morning of October 16, Nong Cong District Police came to work with the school. The school also confirmed that there was no such thing as the school "disciplining" parents by locking the gate and forcing students to clean the toilets until evening.
