From January 25 (December 26), civil servants and workers will have a holiday for the Lunar New Year 2025. On the first day of the holiday, thousands of workers flocked to Da Nang bus station.
From early morning, the bus station was packed with people. Luggage was piled high, people were calling to each other, and car horns were blaring, creating a bustling atmosphere typical of the days before Tet. However, the large number of people made it difficult to move around the bus station. Many people had to jostle and push to find a place to wait for the bus. Some families with young children and the elderly had a hard time.
"As soon as my children started their vacation, we quickly arranged our work and prepared our luggage to catch the bus back to our hometown in Quang Binh," said Tran Thi Nhu Quynh.
On both sides of the waiting room of Da Nang Central Bus Station, there are rows of goods, foam boxes, and suitcases waiting to be loaded onto the bus.
Speaking to Lao Dong, Mr. Pham Loi - General Director of Da Nang Bus Station Management and Transport Joint Stock Company - said: "At the end of this year, Da Nang will increase the number of bus trips to serve the travel needs of the people. Around January 24 and 25, it is expected that more people and tourists will flock to the bus station."
According to Mr. Loi, some ticket counters are currently sold out, however, in case passengers plan to return late, they can still secure tickets.
Mr. Loi also added that to manage order at the bus station, the functional forces of the Danang Bus Station Management and Transport Joint Stock Company are strictly checking the situation of overcrowding. When the bus leaves the station, there are enough seats, but there is no overcrowding.
