The area around Han Market welcomes thousands of domestic and international tourists to shop and have fun every day. From Bach Dang Street, Tran Phu to Hung Vuong, the traffic is crowded, making it difficult to move, causing neighboring streets to always be overloaded.
Faced with that situation, the People's Committee of Da Nang City has installed a system of traffic lights and pedestrian crossings at the intersection of Bach Dang - Nguyen Thai Hoc, Bach Dang - Hung Vuong streets (han Market area) to ensure safety for pedestrians crossing the road in this area.

The signal light system includes two signal lights, equipped with lights, smart buttons with counter counter; AI cameras to count vehicles and pedestrians; signal control cabinets and central information processing boxes. Pedestrians press the button on the pillar, cameras record, AI counting the waiting person and automatically turning on the lights when eligible.
Regularly taking Thai groups to Han Market to shop, Ms. Nguyen Anh Thu - a tour guide in Da Nang - was satisfied when this area was installed with a pedestrian lighting system.
"My group of customers usually has over 20 people. Every time I take tourists to tourist attractions, I am a bit worried because of the large number of people and many vehicles passing by, which is very dangerous for my tourists. Since 2024, Han Market area has installed traffic lights for pedestrians, so it is very convenient to take visitors across the street," Ms. Thu shared.
For the Dragon Bridge area, on Tran Hung Dao Street (near DHC boat dock), since 2016, pedestrian traffic lights have been installed, and to date, this traffic light is still supported by people and tourists. When vehicles return to this area, visitors can conveniently cross the road.

Mr. Tran Huu Phat - a resident of Son Tra district - said that this pedestrian traffic light has been around for a long time. Previously, Mr. Phat did not understand what the effect of this lamp was and how it worked.
"In recent years, tourists have come to Da Nang more and more, this area welcomes and returns visitors every day, so when vehicles return to get off, the number of people crossing the road is heavy. At this time, if the tour guide presses the control button, the light will turn red, vehicles will stop, and visitors can cross the road safely, said Mr. Phat.
When organizing fire spraying and water spraying at Dragon Bridge on weekends, the Da Nang Department of Tourism has regularly informed travel agencies not to stop or park to pick up and drop off passengers on routes at the head of Dragon Bridge; only stop pick-up and drop off passengers in the area of Vo Van Kiet Street from Pham Cu Luong to Vo Nguyen Giap. After that, visitors are guided to visit, shop and watch fire and water spraying to ensure the safety of people and tourists.
