The Tam Trinh Road expansion project (Hoang Mai district, Hanoi) is 3.5km long, starting at Minh Khai intersection and ending at Ring Road 3 intersection, with a total investment of more than VND3,350 billion.
The project started in 2016 and was expected to be completed in 3 years. However, due to many difficulties in site clearance, the project was stalled.
Recently, Hoang Mai district has handed over about 800m of clean land to the contractor to carry out the construction of Tam Trinh road expansion after many years of delay.
According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Vinh - Deputy Commander of Package No. 9, the Tam Trinh road expansion project is divided into 2 construction phases.
Phase 1 will be constructed on the left side of the route in sections where the ground is already cleared. Phase 2 will be constructed on the existing section of Tam Trinh Street.
Mr. Vinh said that after the investor handed over part of the site, from the beginning of August 2024, the contractor began construction in a rolling manner.
"We aim to complete four sections of the route by the end of this year, including areas in Mai Dong, Yen So, Hoang Van Thu wards and the entire retaining wall on the Kim Nguu River," said Mr. Vinh.
At the Tam Trinh road expansion project site, the contractor is mobilizing many machines and 50 personnel to focus on construction items such as burying the drainage system, digging and filling the roadbed, spreading crushed stone, and treating weak soil at locations with cleared ground.
According to the contractor representative, the construction period of this project is 650 days, from July 31, 2024, and the unit is determined to stick to the schedule. However, the assigned site is still "uneven" and not continuous, so the efficiency of machinery and equipment has not been maximized.
A representative of the People's Committee of Hoang Mai district said that it is expected that by the end of 2024, the district will basically complete site clearance and hand over as much clean land as possible so that the contractor is qualified to carry out continuous construction without interruption.
According to plan, the project will be completed in June 2026 with the expectation of reducing traffic pressure on the main roads of the southern gateway of Hanoi, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of Hoang Mai district in particular and the capital in general.
