In the first days of spring, Dak Lak people are excited to go on spring outings, go to pagodas, and visit relatives and friends. The bustling Tet atmosphere is everywhere from Buon Ma Thuot city to districts and towns in the province.
Despite the joy of celebrating Tet, people still strictly comply with the Road Traffic Law, especially the new regulations in Decree 168/2024/ND-CP.
Traffic awareness has many positive changes, demonstrated through wearing helmets properly, even when traveling short distances, driving in the correct lane, obeying the speed limit...
At intersections in Buon Ma Thuot city, people strictly obey traffic lights and wear helmets, helping traffic flow smoothly and rarely causing congestion.
Mr. Y Mai Bya (Ea Kao commune, Buon Ma Thuot city) shared that the fines under Decree 168 are higher than before, so he always tries to observe when participating in traffic and strictly complies.
“During Tet, my friends and relatives often sip and drink a few glasses of spring wine together. But when we drink alcohol, I let my wife drive to ensure traffic safety,” he said.
Similarly, Mr. Le Van Ngoc (Ea Hu commune, Cu Kuin district) said that Decree 168 gives him a reason to refuse drinking parties when attending year-end parties, New Year's greetings...
“Before, a few glasses at each house added up to get drunk. Now, just say you have to drive and no one forces you to drink anymore,” said Mr. Ngoc.
A special point during this year's Tet holiday is that besides the familiar greetings, many people also remind each other to wear helmets, not to drive after drinking alcohol, contributing to building a culture of safe traffic.
Lieutenant Colonel Bui Trong Tuan - Head of the Traffic Police Department of Dak Lak Provincial Police - said that the Traffic Police force patrolled all night and throughout Tet.
The patrol aims to strictly handle traffic violations, especially alcohol violations.
Along with patrolling, detecting and handling violations, during the peak period before, during and after Tet, the Traffic Police force also focuses on propaganda and reminding people to participate in traffic safety.
