From noon on May 3rd, the last day of the April 30th - May 1st holiday, the number of people returning to Hanoi to prepare for the new working week continues to increase.
According to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, from Nhat Tan bridge towards My Dinh Bus Station area, traffic flow is at a normal level. At My Dinh Bus Station, passengers from neighboring provinces and cities flock in large numbers, carrying a lot of luggage after a long holiday.

According to Mr. Doan Anh Phap - Deputy Director of My Dinh Bus Station, at 2:30 PM on May 3rd, the number of passengers disembarking at the station was more than usual but not yet overloaded. The reason is that some bus companies drop off passengers outside the station, and many people choose personal vehicles. To best serve passengers returning to the Capital after the holidays, the station has mobilized 100% of its personnel to work.
The driver of Viet Phuong bus company running the Hanoi - Yen Bai route said that the return trip has enough passengers, but the departure trip is very deserted, each trip has only 3-4 passengers, not enough for fuel costs.
Similarly, a driver of Viet Hung bus company running the Tan Son (Phu Tho) - My Dinh (Hanoi) route said that by the departure time from My Dinh there are only 2 passengers. "Not running is impossible, but running is a big loss," the driver shared.

According to drivers, the main reason is that the demand for travel is mainly in the direction of Hanoi, while the opposite direction has very few passengers. In addition, many passengers do not go to the station to buy tickets but choose limousines and combined cars outside.
At Giap Bat Bus Station (Hanoi), the number of passengers has increased, but only slightly higher than usual days. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung - Director of Giap Bat Bus Station - predicts that on May 3, the station will pick up about 15,000 passengers. To support and relieve passengers when getting off the station, the unit has coordinated with 32 bus routes to increase vehicles, serving maximum travel needs. At the same time, the station coordinates with the ward police force to ensure security and order in the area.

At Noi Bai airport, it is expected that on May 3, 728 flights will be operated, with an output of 117,853 passengers. Of which, domestic flights reached 408 flights, equivalent to 70,160 passengers; international flights reached 320 flights, equivalent to 47,693 passengers.
To meet travel needs, on the last day of the April 30 - May 1 holiday, Noi Bai airport maintains 98 check-in counters at Terminal T1 and 144 counters at Terminal T2, including 48 new counters put into operation from the T2 Passenger Terminal expansion project.

In addition, a system of 16 luggage delivery conveyors at two terminals and 122 aircraft parking positions are always ready to serve the increased output.
Representatives of Noi Bai airport said that to ensure aviation safety and security, the unit strengthens coordination with Noi Bai border gate police, arranges personnel, and opens maximum security scanners.
At the same time, coordinate with Noi Bai International Airport Police Station and Traffic Police Team No. 15 to strengthen patrols, ensure security and order, handle violations in the port area; organize smooth traffic regulation and diversion.
Noi Bai Airport has applied automatic toll collection on all entry and exit lanes to improve customs clearance capacity; flexibly regulate lane opening and closing, preventing congestion during peak hours.
To ensure service quality, the airport coordinates with ground service units to ensure luggage return time meets standards; requesting transport businesses to arrange sufficient vehicles to serve both at night and early morning.
At the same time, arrange passenger support staff, promptly detect and help cases in need of assistance; maintain a 24/7 hotline to receive and answer feedback.
