To serve the travel needs of passengers during the Hung Kings Commemoration holiday and April 30 - January 1, 2026, Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company has developed a plan to increase vehicles, ensure security and order, and list and sell tickets in accordance with regulations at bus stations in the area.
According to a representative of the unit, due to the two consecutive holidays, passenger traffic is forecast to differentiate, including groups with long holidays combined, groups staying in breaks, and groups moving scattered. In general, passengers will be distributed relatively evenly, without causing sudden pressure on the inter-provincial transport system.
It is forecasted that during peak days, the number of visitors will mainly concentrate in the afternoon of April 24, April 25, afternoon of April 29 and April 30. The number of visitors returning will increase on April 27 and April 4. After these times, travel demand will gradually decrease, returning to normal levels.
At Giap Bat Bus Station, the highest number of passengers is expected to be about 9,000 trips/day, an increase of more than 200% compared to normal days, with about 760 trips/day. Routes with strong demand include Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa.
Gia Lam bus station is expected to reach about 1,900 passengers/day, an increase of more than 100%, with about 385 bus trips/day, concentrated on Hai Phong and Quang Ninh routes.
At My Dinh Bus Station, the number of passengers is forecast to be about 11,403 trips/day, an increase of more than 200%, with more than 770 trips/day, mainly on routes Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Phu Tho, Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Son La, Lai Chau, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang.
Based on forecasts, Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company plans to increase about 500 vehicles, including 250 vehicles for routes over 300km and 250 vehicles for routes under 300km. Of which, Giap Bat increases by 212 vehicles, Gia Lam 68 vehicles, My Dinh about 220 vehicles. Vehicle dispatch will be flexibly allocated according to each day, each route, based on the actual situation.
The unit will propose to the Hanoi Department of Construction to issue reinforcement vehicle badges, and at the same time coordinate operation to ensure vehicles depart quickly and in accordance with regulations. At the same time, the company also prepares contingency plans, signs contracts with vehicle rental units to meet in case of sudden increase in demand or vehicles on the route not being mobilized in time due to congestion.
In addition, Hanoi Bus Station Company coordinates with Hanoi Bus Operation Center to increase the frequency of bus routes connecting the bus station, serving passengers moving into the inner city and vice versa.
During peak seasons, functional forces will be strengthened to coordinate inspection and supervision of transport activities, ensuring that there is no situation of overloading, selling tickets at wrong prices or lacking valid papers. Transport businesses are also required to seriously implement ticket price declarations, avoiding arbitrary price increases during holidays.
Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company emphasized that it will tighten transport discipline, improve service quality, and ensure safety and convenience for passengers throughout the long holiday.
